Nv4500 top cover

I have an old style top cover on my nv4500 and I'd like to switch to the new style because of how much closer the shift pattern is i was wondering if I could take the old forks rods and components out of the old one and put them in a stripped new style cover?

A friend of mine upgraded to the newer cover and got a complete assembly with forks and everything for $300 off EBay

Try shifting a typical NV5600!
That old style NV4500 shifts like butter in comparison.
