pc based scan tool

I'm I'm the market for a pc based scan tool. My snap on modis is in the middle of a warranty battle and either way it turns out I'm not buying a snap on again. Anyone running a pc based program? Which would you recommend?

Solus ultra or latest greatest / auto ingenuity has windows 7 or believe windows 8 , they do nail u on windows updates

we had old modis in now have the solus edge. But been looking at the alliant power scanner for our shop. Myself id like to get a laptop based scan tool.
