quick question, what are you useing to close off the exhaust side of the turbo to do a leak test on the system?

For a boost test, it's easiest to just loosen the valve lash on a couple of the exhaust rockers if you have pressure leaking out through the exhaust tract. For exhaust leak detection, I just look for soot trails, i the leak is small enough to not leave soot, it's not a problem in my opinion. We're not top contender formula diesel race teams where every nano-hp matters.

id agree with big blue. thats usually what i do but friend of mine at the dealership just takes the downpipe off and plugs the exhaust exit on the turbo but to me thats more work sometimes

Get a flange and plug it. weld it up

Thank you for the input. I'm guessing ive got a leak on the intake side so I'll just do the valve thing.
