random dieing

This spring my truck would randomly die going down the road for about two or three second. It hasn't done it all summer but today it did it twice in about three miles. The yellow engine light comes on after it does it. Any ideas?

Could be the camshaft sensor.

do you have anyway to check the code.......autozone and other parts stores will scan for free. this would help alot instead of changing out parts that may or may not be bad

look for codes. cam sensor is pretty common and would cause an instant kill but it could be a few things

Codes checked tomorrow. This same truck had the ecm go out last year. That's what I was thinking, hadn't even thought of the came sensor.
