Is there a way to verify the health of the lifter/roller needle bearings with out pulling out the motor? The lpop ate something and shared it with the rest of the oil system. All Screens destroyed metal through out. I was Told that the needle bearings in the roller tips are a likely suspect and I would like to know how to verify this.

Get you an X-ray machine. Strap on a lead jacket and give it a try.

Perfect
I was hoping for some sort of dial indicator rocker arm trick or something

Its a hydraulic lifter with a little bit of pressure already on them. Even if it was a solid roller lifter the couple of .000s it would be off you probably wouldn't catch anyways.

I told the guy he is in it for a new to the truck engine. It works out better than having some debris hiding in some crack waiting for the truck to fire and hose it all over again after all the laid up parts get replaced. More cost affective anyways.

Thank you all for your help.........
