spray angle

This may not be the rite place for this but I'm wondering how the spray angle affects power i have 155deg angle now and would like to go to 145-140deg. With the bowl designs i have to choose from i spray out side of the bowl not good. I saw somewhere that the steeper the spray angle the less efficient the burn. I'm not sure if that is totally true?

and what use, that might make a diff as well, rpm goals, 5k, normal ?

This is for a detroit diesel series 60 with a 5.31 bore. 3800rpm

At 24deg it leaves marks on the piston halfway between the cyl wall and the bowl!!
