timing?

I'm looking over a CUMMINS tune just to try and understand how they work, and I'm trying to understand the timing tables. To me it looks like you take the base table E2503 and then subtract the air density timing from it E2500-E2504 to get the actual timing value. Is this the low down on how it works? By using this method it seems the timing stays in the +- 10 degrees or so which would seem to me to be what the timing probably is. Just trying to understand how these tables work in case I find a guinea pig that will let me try out some CUMMINS tuning.

It looks like the CUMMINS tuning will use more spreadsheets and such to fully see the big picture of tuning than DURAMAX tuning uses.

No, it blends the values between the air density tables. Think of it like B0202 on the LBZ how it weights the different altitude table values depending on the altitude.
In testing the beta guys found changing Base plus Alt 1 was most effective.
