Trans Temp Gauge Not Reading

Hey all,

I have an autometer short sweep trans temp gauge installed on my truck. I decided to use a temp sensor that "hugs" the trans line. I am pretty sure I put it on the hot line but the gauge never moves. It lights up and dims with the rest of the gauges but it doesn't read the temp. I drove it for a short trip to the store so I am assuming it was enough to get the trans temp fluid up. I also have an AFE deep pan installed. Could it be that the sender is bad or the gauge or what? Thanks for the help!

Takes at least 20-30 miles to get up to temp! Hook up to a trailer and move it around the yard for 10 minutes then you'll see it move!

My hot line gauges reads converter temp within 5-min.

Try running a ground wire from the sensor to the frame, I bet it will work then.

Good point...I needed to do that as well.

Ok I will try that. It only came with a power wire to the sensor. Thanks for the advice Howling!
