transmission cooler line

working on a friends 01 dodge with a tre built auto. the stock lines coming off the heat exchanger on the pass side have developed a leak right where a plastic clip holds them together.

What is the best way to fix this leak...
-Replace both lines or can I cut out the bad section and couple in some flex hose with -8an fittings (I believe it is -8)?

-or just order new hard lines and replace? where is the best place to get the lines?

right after I posted I had a search result come up that gave me an idea.

had a problem where my lines rubbed through on each other. used pushloc hose and fittings from parker.

Happened to our 01 as well. AN fittings and flared solved it.
I'm sure Parker PTC's would work great too!
