I want to get rid of the factory heat exchanger and switch the factory cooler up front to something bigger to make up for it. I've searched and it seems like most people add another cooler somewhere with its own fan. I would rather not have a fan or cooler under the truck to worry about being bashed up so I want to just run a bigger cooler up front. I've seen someone mention using this cooler http://www.summitracing.com/parts/flx-45321/overview/ then running it through a smaller b&m supercooler http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bmm-70273/overview/ . I was thinking I might be better off just running a larger supercooler like this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bmm-70274/overview/ or even two of them. I would rather do that than have to worry about the flexalites fins peening over from bugs, cornstalks, etc. If anybody has other ideas or setups that work post em up

I have been reading transmission cooler threads for the last two hours and it seems that the majority are remote mounting with separate fans. I don't want a cooler under the truck, can't put it in the bed, so I was looking for people specifically running only coolers in front of the radiator. I have only found 2 people that did it that way and didn't complain about temp. I posted up the coolers they used, just seeing if there were other options that worked since the stock cooler up front doesn't seem to cool enough by itself after the heat exchanger is removed.

Tube and Fin are inferior to Bar and Plate from what I've read over the past few days. Ill be installing my twins in the next week or so and have to remove or relocate my Heat Exchanger. For now I'm going to delete it completely and run the truck. If it gets hot during the summer the I'll either add it back in or find another cooler for it.

Some say the Heat Exchanger is needed while others say ditch it. I live in the southern states so I'm not sure how much benfit I get from it during the winter.

I've mounted a cooler with fan between the fuel tank filler neck and the front of the box. There's plenty of room, it's tucked way up out of harms way, and it's just as clean as the day I installed it.$.02

Have any pictures?

I have a buddy that does run a 6.0L tranny cooler out front on his common rail and he has no troubles with tranny temps.
