I have a 97 12v cummins with a 47re transmission
I just had the transmission completely
Rebuilt with and upgraded valve body and shift kit.
Some new planetary gears and all new clutches
With a billet single disk torque converter and
Better sprag in the converter. But the truck is not
Shifting right. You can shift it manually and the guy says
It shifts perfect but when you put in drive sometimes it will start
In second and sometimes it gets stuck in first. And when you
Get it up to 60 it won't go into lockup without letting off the
Throttle then easing back into it real fast. He thought it was the
Valve body and he replaced everything again and still doing the same
Thing. Is it mayb the PCM needs to be re-flashed or a sensor?
My alternator is going bad on the volt tester could the alternator
Cause this? Pls help.

Sounds like the nofer trunnions are shot, they're not engaging the planetary girdle spring properly and its causing a loss of fluid pressure.

With a line pressure increased you should have a resistor installed to fool the PCM. Or you F'ed up the valve body.
