So I picked up a 97 4x4 that I am slowly building a pulling truck out of. It has some front end damage, primarily destroyed control arms. Looked into getting new ones and the price and availability both kind of suck. So I am thinking of build some out of tube as I have a bunch of 1.5" DOM sitting around. I was just curious if anyone had a link to some reasonably priced hyme joints that work for this application.

Awesome, thanks man those ones from barnes look like they should do the trick.

We use ruffstuff specialties for all of our rockcrawlers on full width 1-ton axles. I don't have any personal experience with Barnes but I haven't heard anything negative about them either.

Another option is that 3rd gen lower control arms will bolt on to a 2nd gen, and they are a boxed design not a stamped U-shape like factory 2nd gens. I put my buddy's take offs on my 02 and noticed a difference on rough roads when the axle is under lots of stress bouncing around.
