tuner problem?

hi, I put a diablo sport predator tuner in my truck about 2 years ago. have taken it out a few times but for the most part it has been on the 65 horse tune. it seems like when i first put it in the truck smoked more and seemed to have a bit more power. my truck bareley hazes now when it used to alot more. any reason this has happened? should i try updateing my tuner?
