Greetings Earthlings.

While in the midst of building a Frankinsteen transmission, I've the choice of a trans fluid pump from a 46RH and that from a 48RE.

46RH . . .

48RE . . . .

The build consists of a:
- OEM 46RH overdrive case and output shaft (so as to mate to my existing OEM NP205).
- 47RH 3-speed case and valve-body.
- 48RE rotating assembly.

Which pump would be better suited and why?

Thanks, guys. :)

48RE

You can research it here or on the Google.

48 pump is 10 lugs vs 11-14 for the 46 and 47. The lugs are larger on the 48 and so is the gear set as a whole. They supply more volume for a given pressure (about 10% if I remember). Like I said search. Many many threads on here with this information.

Thanks for the replies, fellas. :)

Yeah, I tried all kinds of Google searches but only came up with parts vendors. Never thought about including the word "lobe". Derp!
