will a 07 duramax work on a 04????

ok i need some help my buddy has a 07 duramax and a edge chip for it he is trying to sell the chip that is on his 07 to me for my 04 will that chip work on my truck

Negative, since your truck is an LLY/LB7 you will need a a chip specifc to your engine.
