Is this capable of 1000 HP ?

I am looking at a truck in which the fellow claims it has dynoed at 1000HP without NOS.

I am wondering if it is true with what has been done to the truck.
He did have an 1/8 mile time slip and figuring on a online calculator it was less than 700hp.

Here is what has been done to the truck its an 06 quad cab 4x4 with a built auto.

EFI 5 stage live
compound turbos s480 over stock
wicked wheel
Head work (unknown what was done)
625 arp studs
104lb valve springs
HD push rods
180hp industrial injection injectors
5" exhaust
Stock bottom end
Stock intercooler

Would this be capable of 1000 HP ?

7.39 ,96 mph. He was bracket racing and broke out with that time. Whatever that means. He was only on setting 3 he says. Then he had a time of 7.761 where it says he was a winner. I do not know how race times work.

Bracket racing is where you pick your dial in/or time you think you'll run and whoever gets to the finish line first without going under your time you picked wins. 7.36 ain't bad, that's a pretty stout truck. Defiantly runs better than I'd of thought with the stock secondary turbo. If it has a good trans that sounds like it could be a good start for you. Just keep in mind if your serious on making 1000hp, about all the upgrades already done to the truck you'd be replacing. Be a fun truck as it is, solid 11 sec truck.

That setup is definitely capable of 1000 hp with the help of bigger injectors, dual cp3s, (I have seen people get close with a single 12mm cp3), and a lift pump. A stock bottom end will last for some time - it just comes down to how lucky you are.

You better be buying a set of better connecting rods. Does your intercooler have plastic tanks? My 05 did and blew the plastic tank.

Stock cp3 ?
Dual cp3?
Modified cp3 ?

I still feel that stock turbo is gonna hold it back

I run 7.4 on 35inch tires in the same truck your describing with pretty similar mods
And I'm not and would not claim 1000hp

A 1000hp truck would run a tad quicker on the 1/8
More in the high 6s low 7s

If that stock turbo was a 66 over the 80 then yes I'd say 1000
But not many stock bottom end truck like compounds and usually don't live too long
High hp stock bottom ends usually run big singles and tend to live longer
Not saying bulletproof or won't break just saying what I've seen over the years on here and in person

Are you trying to buy this truck And is the seller talking it up to something it's not ??

I will ask him about the CP3. Yes I am definitely trying to buy it. If it was really a 1000 hp truck I would definitely purchase. I don't really think he is trying to talk it up. However all the other trucks with twins that say they have 1000 hp have never had one of them stock and they all have auxillary coolers for the trans.

My honest advice
Stay away from a stock motor running twins
It's a ticking time Bomb man
With that being said are you looking for a truck to run at the track
Cause you could do it safer and cheaper than buying a compound set up or some else's truck
But nevertheless this post is about if it can push 1k and I honestly don't see it if he's running mid 7s and running a stock turbo in there
1000hp truck would be faster he pulling ur leg a bit
Check out the time slips part of the forum and there's a few 1000hp truck on there running high 6s

My truck weights 6450 and has put down 1027hp on PPEI's dyno. Stock btm end truck. I only drag race so I have it dialed in pretty good and running consistent 6.5x @106mph passes on the 1027hp tune. Just something for you to compare to. Use the hp calculator on here or Wallace racing using mph and weight.

sounds like he has enough cp3 might be pushing those 180hp injectors hard to make 1000tho
Keep that in mind (safer to go bigeer injector and less tuning/timing)
But I still don't think he has the air I think the stock charger even with the wheel is still gonna hold it back (maybe a turbo expert can chime in on that)
Most 1000hp setup run a larger charger only problem I see here
I can't say Ive come across 1k truck with a stock charger in the compound setup seem
Many in the 700-800 range tho

What size turbos or turbo did you run with this time slip

A LOT depends on the dyno too!!! If he has timeslips to show you, he should also have dyno printouts to show you...

I have seen trucks make much more on the dyno that they seem to perform on the track for MANY reasons... (Look at Baca's truck for a prime and extreme example of this phenomena) I have also seen well sorted trucks outperform their dyno on the track...

Some dyno's read high while others read low. I have seen several stock bottom end Cummins trucks break 1000 on a dyno, but that doesn't mean they will last forever. Seems that with a Cummins 800 is a good target for something that will be a street/strip truck that will last pretty well and be fun on the street and at the track.

In my eyes this is a safer way to make 1000hp on a stock bottom end
Vs stock turbo over 80

Mazak I'm just trying to show you that you don't need compounds to be fast and still make hp and most will agree a large single is safer (nothing's bulletproof) than a set of compounds particularly the set you've meantioned on a stock bottom end
A 1000hp dunk sheet is worth no more that the paper it's printed on let's see it actually perform and back up it's numbers
power is useless unless you can control it

100% Agree with you Jacob. 10.90 and 10.50 index was my ultimate goal. But I wanted to have more power on tap and hit 1000hp on fuel just to say I did lol. I don't have the bank account to compete with SS guys.
