anyone run a quick rate 12mm

After much consideration and a bunch of talking to people that are much smarter than me, ive decided to cam my 160 pump. Im gonna leave everything alone other than the cam, springs and pull the timing from 22 to i think 18. Towing sucks at 22*. The goal is full fuel in the 3800-4000rpm range. Decided to go with a hamilton instead of a 903 or a regrind. It was just a few $$$ more. Hopefully will get some time in the next couple weeks to get it all taken apart and put back together.

I have done a bunch of talking with guys who run 13mm pumps and about everyone agrees its night and day with the power. I very much hope im not throwing money at this thing for nothing but I've convinced myself I don't need 700cc's of fuel, I need 450-500cc'c that is more precisely controlled. and with that the truck should..... be able to support a noticeable amount more power than it currently does on maybe a size bigger injector all while emitting less smoke on less timing. is my $1600 hope anyways.

How much was the 903 cam? Which Cam did you get, 2.75? Keep us posted on how it works out.

The pump is on Seth's bench somewhere. Trying to be somewhat patient. Its hard. I went with a 2.75 cam and their HD springs. Zach/hamilton was pretty adement about using their springs. A ground 903 cam to sigma specs through columbus was around $575. Hamilton was right at $900 with springs. Cam alone was just a few bucks more than a regrind. A stock quick rate was very tempting as i could have used my springs and save a few hundred $$$.

Personally nope. My hope is that i can get about 1.8hp per cc. With a goal of 700hp worth of fuel thats about 390cc worth of fuel. Idk if i can make that work (possible pipe dream) Would be extremely super cool if i could make that kinda power on that few of cc's of fuel. And is very much my goal.

It always seems that the less perfect tinkers, like myself need a little more fuel than the bonified bad a$$es to make the hp they want.

Looking forward for the update, any other changes other than the pump work? Def curious on how it turns out.

Im changing nothing initially other than the pump. Wastegates, fuel pressure, everything is staying the same so i can compare loads of past data against the new. I do not know what timing will be set at yet. Was 22* and it was terrible towing. So lower than that. Will still run 5x14 injectors which i can see as being a potential issue up top but idk yet. Im hoping the extra RPM's will allow me to drive the primary much harder. Doesnt matter how i tune about 27psi from the 475 is all i can get. 70psi total. Id really like to get the primary up in the 30's and gate around the secondary a bit more.

That is my goal, very quick controlled injection. If i wanted heller fuel ide have went 13mm. I do wonder what a racked stocker put out though? Probably just about the same. Said this should fuel to 4-4100rpms. I was defueing before at 3300 or so.

440cc's at 1.5 to 1.8hp per cc is 660-800hp worth of fuel. That should be plenty for what im doing.

Noticed 440cc's, was he going after quicker injection rate and not max fuel?

That's also with the AFC pulled 2/3's of the way back. But for a street truck, I think that's probably going to be a big improvement over where he was at before.

I'm pretty excited to hear feedback.

OP, do you have 1/4 mile times or anything you can get apples to apples results on?

apple to apples will be identical runs on the same road showing

speed
boost on both turbos
rpms
egts
pressure ratios on both turbos

I have an entire sheet of 1/2 turn adjustments on the spring gate to current, on all of these same numbers as well. so I can go back to X adjustment and compare vrs the new pump.
