Truckers, lets see your rigs!

Going to cut the counter bores or you have a thin plate laying around? Cat stopped making the thin one they used to offer.

Gonna do counterbores. Only cause I have a good size nick in number 5. Then use a standard plate. I have a machine shop that I have shave the plates though. Their parts come out far more precise than cats do.
Tryin to do everything close to perfect as possible. Probly do a full build thread once the chassis gets here

Ok I was going to suggest having the plates ground if you didn't have a plate.

Yeah the driver was ok, the cab was in really good condition. Other then the mirrors broke off it looked like it was just lifted off and set down next to it. The amount of damage to the chassis is unreal though. The passenger side engine mount is literally ripped apart.

That's two accidents in the last few month that just make me go wow...

Glad to hear. You see some of those like that and the one I posted and it's hard to believe they could find a live person in there let alone a virtually unharmed one.

That the truck that hit the fork lift? Couple weeks ago

Not to mention P7100 pumps are prone to failure from the same exact things electronic pumps are. Fuel contamination and low supply pressure murders them just the same. Some people hide behind the big bad PEE-PUMP thinking they can neglect them.

Bad fuel would kill any injection system..
Naturally, it would be in my best interest to make sure it is well feed with clean fuel. I'd duplicate the filtration and lift pump setup from my LMM to the MD truck..

Is there a program out there comparable to EFI live for the ISL?

Depends which engine/hp rating it has but it can be programmed. There are alternatives that allow you to program the medium and heavy duty stuff similar to efi live as well. coughktagcough I wouldn't write off efi live as being a viable option just yet either....

No offense but you sound just like a pickup truck guy. They LOVE to piddle with stuff. Semi guys are totally different because they just want them to run good and be problem free. We flash them and they go away happy. I personally own trucks that were flashed 5+ yrs ago and never touched again. Running the same factory fuel system with no add on pumps or filters. No "upgraded" fuel lines or fittings or special filters that you can't find on the road when you need one.

None taken.

The fuel filters on my pickup can be bought at any loves, flying j, pilot, ta, and the MD truck will be the same. they are cheaper last longer than OEM Duramax filters, hence the reason I put them on, hot shut down at the fuel island with bad fuel and oem filter, that wasn't cheap...

There's three basic types of tuners out there
Top end
Drivability
And whole table. From idle to wot

I've found people are generally happy with an upgrade when they don't know it can be made better.
Ignorance is bliss like that..

"Runs good" is highly subjective and pertanent to a said driver

I've told drivers that ask me about my truck, when they ask why I turned it up... Its not that I want to go fast, I don't want to slow down for anything less than a 5% grade, traffic/curves excluded, at full weight

Yea but with a P-pump your not ever going to get top end power, low end power and fuel mileage at the same time. Static timing is not going to give you what you want.

I know. One of the unfortunate down falls of mechanical setups..

The upside simplicity, which is sometimes cheaper.

While I agree a ~400hp ISL could have alot better driving manners than a mechanical 400hp 8.3
