$4,000 payout for 2.6" diesel trucks

Why did the B.O.B change the tire rules for the 2.6 class?

I'm glad we waisted all that time and screwed up our rules w/ all their stupid requirements so we could have uniform rules last year only to have them to pull a stunt like this.

Rules were locked in as any dot tire and were not to be change. They pulled a stupid tire rule out this year locally aswell. Also looks like diesel fuel is suppose to be 4.0 on the dielectric scale but whos know what acutally comes out of the pumps.

The limit for the DC is 4.9

The dielectric constant of diesel fuel is 4.0 at 70°F

Riddle me this, The 3 inch class rules say reese style hitch, must have full oem bed floor and four wheel hydraulic brakes but can run any rearend. My question is, are these rules being enforced in this class? Just saying something doesn't seem to be adding up. I thought the rules were supose to be uniform across most bigger pulling sanctions. I don't understand changing the rules in 2.6 and enforcing it to the (T) and not enforcing rules in the 3 inch class if this is the case. Just Saying

None of us have 4 wheel breaks in 3.0 nor a Reese style hitch. But those rules aren't inforced. Mostly because we get along with one another and don't get pissed when we aren't winning every pull. We leave our rules the same and don't add more rules to try to push out the competition.

The problem with this way of doing things is not for the guys that run every week, but what about the guys that come down once or twice a year to pull. The rules say we are illegal so why would we drive the distance to be legal or illegal, depending on who techs or is or isnt there. What other rules are not enforced ? Do U have to have an oem bed floor ?

It would be nice if everyone did this. I can't believe the B.O.B was so easily persuaded to change the tire rule from last year. It was obviously done to try and push out the competition.

I still do as of right now. If u were to come and pull and was disqualified over a hitch or brakes we all would be. I don't agree in no case for an organization to cut the "regulars" a break and make it hard on the other guys coming to pull.

So what are they adding to the fuel to change the dc , and what is the advantage . Is it like methanol ?

I'm not sure when/why the rule was changed, but I seriously doubt it was to "push out the competition". I don't recall any 2.6 trucks last year that dominated with anything bigger than a 35" tire. Jon Swartzentruber won the 2.6 points last year. Smoot and Hallien had some wins as well as several other trucks, all of whom were running 35 or 33 inch tires.

cetane, acetone, alcohol, methanol, any of those will increase the DC. I think the basis of the rule is basically to limit the trucks to #2 pump diesel only.

measure a 35 trxus sts on a 18 inch wheel or bigger tell me what it measure too...lol

on the fuel note.. they got dipped last year and failed at schied if I remember right.. ppl said next year you will be booted... wtf werent they booted then... I love how these rules get pushed over.. the 36" rule is stupid! now I cant pull b.o.b how about we eliminate sleeved motors???? lol

no 33 inch tall tire truck is winning!!

Jon runs a 33 in the rear and a 35 up front I think. I'm not sure if Clint Corwin won any hooks last year or not, but he runs 33s. Also got 2nd at Scheid IIRC, but we all know how hook order affects finish order up there

adding cetane makes it so you dont have to shoot a truck with ether for a few minutes to get it warm enough to run by itself. I thought locked in rules was a move in the right direction but it isnt being followed. With these truck classes changing rules every year they make their way out here so im prolly goin tractor pulling next year.

Dam, I really thought jon jon ran 35's all the way around.. Are you sure your not seing his trxus 35's as bigger than his bfg 35's in rear....lol :pop:

I'm pretty sure, but I could be wrong. And I'm not saying that 33s are the way to go either; when my truck comes back out it will have a set of 35s on it.

#2 pump fuel doesn't have enough lubricants in it. So additives are put into the fuel to prolong injection pump, injectors etc. we have had several problems with regular fuel in our tractors on the farm. All of the fuel we have delivered now is treated so why in the world would an org. expect us to run it in a pulling truck. You guys can run fuel straight from the pump if u like. I for one will not. I've had my fair share of injector pump/injector issues. I know the fuel Haisley runs passes PPL and that's where I plan on running anyways so B.O.B can do what the wish. They are the ones who will pay for it and lose all the top trucks.
