General waste of my time

speaking of c12. Any special rebuild kit or parts needed to make it live a happy vocational life (dump truck) around 500 maybe 550hp? Currently at factory 430hp. Never had any power complaints until the new truck got done. New truck has a bxs set at 550.

Custom software only.

So who’s the “we” with the truck coming to take North America by storm and when/if they get their azz waxed by a Cat are you going to come back on here and admit it?

You see next summer. If they let us, they havent answered my messages.

So what have you shown or proved ?

I run what i suggest, I don't spout off about other peoples equipment. Nor do I make claims about any sort of HP numbers.

You claim to work 850hp big cams, I say prove it, and the dyno results to o along with 850hp claim.

Stock injector barely flows 200cc, you need to decide how far you want to go, stock plunger injector from premco in Texas can flow close to 500cc or better.

Are you saying my current factory injectors or highest flowing factory injectors?

Just trying to get a base line. How much does the cpl 586 injector flow?

That's surprising to me. I thought I had read that even with those 586 injectors these engines become to hot to work. Having custom injectors to 500cc sounds like I'm asking for trouble. Might be a good thing I have a few spares around.

They do without the timing set accordingly, the 475s were variable timing.

I can tell you a good friend of mine runs injectors that flow around 220cc and his truck did 562hp to the tires.

I want to have something together before labor day weekend because that is our local fair and they have a pull that is basically no rules. Whats the secret to setting the overhead for the more injector travel with the stc cam? or is this not to be discussed over the web?

Those are very impressive numbers to the wheels for a 220cc injector. I was always under the impression it takes 2cc per hp

Not always, stock 400 injectors are under 200cc.

Overhead we can go over when you are ready, basically going back to the old way of setting it when the injectors did not have top stop nuts on them.

The CC flow is also relative, most aftermarket injectors are tested at 100psi and 1000 strokes, they don't test at 3-400psi.

Will definitely need info on this. Oldest engine I have ever done an overhead on is our cpl796 which is still top stop. That particular truck is all original and still being used today be it only off-road because the frame is cracked on both sides. I will have to get a picture up of the old girl - Dads favorite truck, bought new in 1987

Well took some time today and got fresh fuel in the pump and some batteries hooked up. These 855's always amaze me at the way they seem to want to run. This 359 with cpl676 hasn't been started in over 10 years. I'm not sure if the motor even made 5 full revolutions and she was chuggin away. Makes me pretty excited to get this ready for the local pull on labor day weekend
