Fuel line ID Sizes.

I will fill what it put in front of it. But anything over a stock injector will begin to use more fuel than goes back to the tank.
 
My question is can the factory fuel pump pump more than the stock lines can flow? I undestand that many on here add much more power than the stock truck can handle. For us that don't race our trucks, will the factory fuel pump keep up with larger fuel lines and the AN fittings sized 44% larger than stock?

We recommend upgrading to our Stage I for trucks with stock horsepower levels up to 120 hp over stock. Anything over that, we start recommending additional kits.

The factory fuel pump can support injectors up to around 190cc's. If you plan on upgrading your injectors, it is strongly recommended that you have a fuel pressure gauge to monitor the fuel pressure. (Keep in mind that not all injectors flow the same. So, two different companies 190’s may actually flow quite a bit different.)

If you are seeing the pressure drop, then upgrading your fuel pump is recommended.

seriously?!?! maybe some II 190's but elite,cass or RCD I HIGHLY doubt.

We have a truck in here right now with 185's from RCD and his factory fuel pump holds just fine.

Like I said, we recomend a fuel pressure gauge. Tim ran his Cass 190's for almost a year before his pump failed. He was holding pressure before it gave out.

I'm at 124,303 miles on my 05 dually. Stock lines with the banjo bolts drilled out. Original pump. I have NEVER replaced an injector on my truck. And it starts on all 8 cylinders everytime. How much HP can I pick up with a Stage 1 kit? How much longer can I expect the stock injectors to last? I am now scared that I have been running these injectors low on pressure for too long.

I typically fire the truck up. No warm up and beat the living crap out of it. But I typically change my oil every 10k to 12k miles. And replace the fuel filters when I change my oil. Do you think I have been lucky do to proper maintenance?

It may be hard to get a good reference with my pics,...I don't have "twinky eater fingers" like Doug....LOL
 
I had a stock pump and DJ's, and I would run about 60 PSI, on a hard run it would drop down to about 45ish IIRC. It worked nearly a year, but was not idea. Still have DJ's lines on the truck BTW. Fuel is not a problem with the smoke I have.

So you are telling me that even with smaller fittings over factory. You are happy with the performance of the truck an see no reason to go to a larger fitting? A .160" orifice is sufficient with 190cc injectors and a larger fitting would provide no additional performance gain.

I'm just telling what my setup is. I'll let you guys decide. I like the stainless steel lines, and the look alone was worth it to me.
 
I'm gonna put some braided stainless sheating over the stock lines. It will make it pretty and I'll be good to go. I have no problem with making stuff pretty. But I'm not going to change what I have if something smaller will still even get the job done feeding injectors that are about 50% larger than stock.
 
Now. I didn't plan this. But ALL of you thought I opened this up to bash on DJ. It looked to me like trusted was going to come in and use this thread to help them sell kits. But I think you all know me better than to let something like that happen. I didn't even know Tim was going to post in here. Then he came in and flat out proved my point.

So how bout we all just see how far we can go on .172"

You can all still feel free to think I'm a piece of crap.
 
All I know is,...my Trusted lines will be all the fuel I will ever need,.....no "if's"...no "maybe's".....

I have way more fuel than I have air,......but that is going to change...slightly..

Sorry, I went to bed. Don't try and take credit for something you had nothing to do with. You have enough cool sh*t coming out that you will get lots of earned credit in the upcoming months.
 
Are you running factory lines on your race truck?

I waited a few hours last night for you to come ask me that.

The factory system is not being run. The secondary fuel filter is no longer there to permit a different intake manifold. The lines from there to the bowl will no longer fit propery. The feed and return lines that are run behind the front cover are no longer there due to an aluminum motor plate for the front of the engine. The lines to and from the factory pump don't work anymore since we shortend the bed 16 inches and boxed the frame in. The factory pump isn't there, but we already know the factory pump can't supply the volume. The fuel tank isn't there anymore cause I wanted to put a fuel cell in the truck. Are you sure you wanted to compare a race truck to daily driven trucks?

While we are on it. The stock intake manifold won't be there. The stock turbo won't be there. The stock heads won't be there. Neither will the rods. The crank. The pistons. The block. No stock exhaust manifolds either. Custom applications require custom fitment.

But, If you would like me to replumb the truck with some smaller fittings. I'll do it. Just to prove it to you again.
