Nice, so you can rebuild it yourself no big deal, that's awesome! What's the deal on the input shaft that is "unbreakable", way oversize or super duper metal?

It's oversized, longer splines, better oiling holes, better material, etc. Call Mike and he'll talk to you all day about it lol. Enjoy it Spencer!

So I took Friday off to tow my sisters truck home and install the converter and output shaft in my truck. The drive down was pretty uneventful, just had to plan ahead and unlock for hills or shift to 3rd and lock it up. No melted pistons, but one really pissed off slow lady driver that I passed oraling the coal pretty hard LOL.

Anyway, Friday night I started to tear into my trans and one thing after another fought me pretty hard. Starter crapped out right before I pulled it into the shop, spent an hour getting that fixed. Once it was on the lift things went a little smoother until I got to the OD section and had one hell of a time getting the billet output shaft in, apparently the tolerances are so close you have to press it in, then take a few thousandths off the retainer snap ring to get it to sit properly in the snap ring groove. Finally got all that straightened out and went to put my overdrive brake clutches in and found two warped steels... Apparently they have been like that for a while... Amazingly it still shifted OD just fine. I had to call in a favor to get some clutches and steels this morning, finally I got it all back together tonight with a larger driveshaft and my DHD transfer case. Now let me say....... HOLY MOTHER OF BLESSED LOCKUP!!!!!. Super quick, super firm, super aggressive. I love it.

Big shaft installed...

Well I wish this was a better update but it looks like the helix 2 cam Ive been running for the last three years is now a two piece model. Carnage pics to follow tomorrow.

Will get a better picture of the thrust bearing/retainer. There is a good 1/8 ate out, likely the root of a lot of my problems.

We got the truck running tonight, amazingly it runs smoother than it use to. I have it set to 29* timing and so far it rocks (literally rocks in the crank case LOL)

not so good of a picture of me running the overhead....LOL

Does anyone have any info on pricing or how to get a hold of Monster Pump Mike? Currently building a new tranny and would like more information on the 2 piece converter.
