Cheaters in Work Stock classes.

If people are going to cheat, find a way to cheat or "bend the rules" better. That is all this is coming down to right?

There is a class like that at almost every pull, its called exhibition or rent your own sled, IF WS, 2.6,2.8, 3.0,SS and Mod isn't enough, I dont know what to tell you. I can tell you, I have never had anyone ask for a non tuner class, in 11 years of pulling, rules meetings, and officiating.
The true showroom stock guys just take their beatings in whatever class they fit into, and see what their truck can do.

at a lot of local fair pulls they are talking about stock bein stock, i dont agree with it completely but it is what it is, like i said i pulled stock w/ my truck when i had my hx50 on, and got beat, but the crowd was goin nuts b/c i had pri the most smoke and tons of speed,

i know why alot of ppl go to watch them the smoke and noise of a diesel, thats why they have gassers pull first so not every one leaves.

in my other post i meant i dont think you should get dq'd for tuners or smoke,......

What happens when the Duramax with a lift pump and a tune unhooks from the trailer it towed the 3.0 truck in on and puts 60 ft on you? It's insured, obviously streetable, and has less than $1,000 in mods? That sounds entry level to me.

that guy is my hero. and very acceptable but we all know that is not the case

In KY the workstock class is VERY VERY competitive.. There are hardly any trucks that arent trailered in and whoever wins is called a cheater no matter what, i havebeen called one all year.. The crowd seems to love w.s. more than any class IMO

i hate how alot of pulls around here in my area had a diesel class, most ppl have stock, maybe some tuners/fuel mods on their truck but nothing else. then there is a 2.8 and 3.0 puller duramaxs, owned by son/father that pull and then brag for beating stock trucks. i just dont get it. and somehow its ok for them to pull with the stock trucks....

If you really want to make work stock a beginners class it is actualy pretty easy to do if it is a sanctioned organization. If any puller wins more than 40% of the hooks during a season they are automaticly bumped to the next class up.

Or if you really want to make things better you could change to 3 diffrent classes.

Class 1 2.5" inducer with a 2.5" wheel, no modified or bushinged covers to accomadate bigger wheels. This evens the playing field amongst brands and vintages, keeps it to streetable chragers and is much easier to tech by eliminating the grey area of what is stock.

Class 2 2.8" inducer, and if it is bushed down it must maintain 2.8" for 3/4" in front of the wheel with no provisions for air to get to the wheel except via the inducer bore or bushing bore. This creates enough power diffrence between Class 1 and 2 for people in the stands to be able to tell a diffrence and allows trucks to be competitive with off the shelf turbos with a simple bushing, no crazy slotted covers, clipped wheels, ported map groves, custom billet wheels, and other expensive mods required to be competitve like several of the current 2.6" classes require. This is the limit of power the automotive drivelines can handle so its a good place for the hottest full bodied street truck appearing trucks to compete.

Class 3 3.0" inducer and must run with the wheel protruding into the 3.0" inducer bore with no provisions for air to the wheel besides a stock map grove and the bore. Ths class can run any driveline, and any tire meaning pullers, bar tires, or cuts. This class needs something diffrent to make it stand out to the crowds so it doesn't just look like more 2.6 and 2.8 trucks ot the crowds in the stands. The trucks have the driveline to handle pulling tires and I think they should run them to give the class a distinctive look.

Seriously not allow trucks to get trailered in? What about someone who drives a couple hours to a pull and their truck breaks? When it breaks I wanna be able to throw it on a trailer and haul it home instead of having to get a tow truck to bring it home.

Yeah, which is exactly why they should have a must drive in rule. It would keep ringers out. It would also kee the trucks local for the most part. Win win. :snoop:

Limiting entrants is not win-win. It's a loss for the fans, and a loss for the sport. It's only a win for an entrant who may not have deserved it.

I know of 2 guys that trailer their stock truck to a pull. Their puller is hooked to the trailer and drags the stocker around.

So, if they want to trailer a truck in, let it be the "just in case truck."...

how stupid...if I break my "stock" truck its sure gona be a relief to have my trailor there to get me home....this is geting way outta hand.....if i'm ever told that I cant compete just because my truck rides in on the back of another then we got a problem.....crap like that will kill this class/sport

I wish everyone would have their location info filled out and correct, just so it can confirm my suspicions

Seems reasonable to me. Back in the day, Tomac hauled his emergency truck around to most of the pulls we saw him at.

Back in the day, we towed one WS truck with another WS truck. We took turns being the tow truck unless one of us broke, but we wouldn't think of going 2 hours from home and driving them both. Nothing wrong with that. If you want to keep it local and have the 24v vs the IDI Ford, have at it, just make sure everyone knows when that class is going to happen so they can go walk around the fair and get food for the kids.:hehe:

05smoker people like you is whats wrong with the sport.making jokes about people and what they have. whether its a stock class or a 3.0 class. it should be treated fairly when it comes to teching. pretty much what your saying is if its not a high horsepower class then its dumb.the point of pulling is for us to have a sport where we can have fun. people like you take the fun out of it

No, the problem with the sport is people whining and b!tching on the internet that their stock or slightly modified truck that they don't want to spend the time and money building can't compete in a WS class at their local fair in front of their buddies so they want the the rules changed.
