Efi live update

The plan is to have support for the CAN based controllers first, then add support for the SCI controllers (03-05). We don't have plans to go earlier than 2003

New hardware is needed because the existing hardware isn't compatible with SCI, so it's not physically possible to do it with a software upgrade.

Cheers

its been about 4 years since I modded my truck (hit 600hp and stopped)... and this is one product that will get me back in the game.

Sadly I have an 03 with the standard output, non-cali version, So I assume I will be one or the last to be included in the support. But thats OK, because I got nothing but time

DSP5 was so nice with 5 switchable tunes on the fly............ Man I miss it.........

06 and 07 will be the first years for the CR to get it from what I have heard

Yep, CAN support first; 06.5/07 first, then 6.7, then the 03-06 SCI. Things could change but that's how it looks now

not sure about dsp5 but there will be different hardware required to do the CAN equipped and SCI equipped rigs.

After tuning is out, they will look at a DSP-like switch. For now, that's not even the concern, tuning and getting it rolled out is priority numero uno.

The new V2s that have the capability to do the SCI stuff will replace the current V2 upon release of Cummins tuning or they run out, whichever comes first.

Correct - the 06-07 5.9L will be the first controller we will support. We will then move onto 6.7L's then move back to work on the 03-05 SCI's.

The new hardware is now in circulation. The black V2 units will support CAN Cummins (06+) via a software license purchase, and our new blue V2 units have the capability of supporting both CAN and SCI Cummins.

As for DSP/CSP, we have some ideas, but haven't started development....

Any kind of time line as to when we might see the 03-05 SCI units?

They are now in stock, so I guess it's dependant on when dealers run out of existing black V2's. I'm sure if you requested an SCI capable unit in your order you would be accomodated.

If your question is really "when are we likely to be able to tune an 03-05 SCI truck" the answer is - it's dependant on a whole lot of other factors particularly the amount of time the CAN controllers spend in beta, and the amount of time and support our customers require to do the job right.

Maybe i missed it, but what will this cost?

Hey Cindy, can I upgrade my Black V2 I currently use for Duramax's to the unit that will do CAN and SCI and not lose the VIN license's currently stored or will i just have to hang on to the V2 I have that i programmed those with?? One V2 will do Duramax's and Dodge CAN and SCI controllers right??

We haven't announced pricing, other than saying it will be a similar price for tuning the GM vehicles we support. That's because our pricing and licensing structures need to change; customers will have the option to purchase FlashScan with either GM licensing, Cummins licensing or both.

If you only want to tune Cummins, there is no product to purchase currently as the new V2's will only ship with GM licensing until we have a Cummins product ready for sale.

Pricing should be finalised and made public within the next few weeks.

Matt, the short answer is No. Upgrading previously caused many difficulties for both the customer and our support teams, so we are not offering it this time around.

That said, for customers who have an existing black V2 we don't recommend you purchase a blue V2 for SCI until we actually have an SCI product to sell. While the hardware is capable, without the software purchasing a new unit makes no sense, unless you want GM and Cummins on seperate interfaces. (ie you can tune CAN cummins on your existing V2 for a license upgrade). Your black V2 will meet your needs in the short term.

do you guys think its possible we could see a +300HP tune for the Cummins like the Dmax's and PSD's have?

300 hp gains are childs play for efi if your truck has the supporting parts. You Dodge boys are gonna f##k some **** up if your not careful.
