Best shop to build Race CR Engine

how pricey are they though for a built motor, i mean i know its not going to be cheap but i have talked to a few shops already and the prices they are throwing out there are crazy, some are saying 15 to 20 thousand which is WAY more than i am willing to spend on a bottom end and head of motor only.

No idea call them 801-233-1111 ask for Zane or Jacob.

Dont do 12v rods, do it once and get some billets. I have bent 6 sets of 12v rods this year, they are just not going to work in a high hp cr, just too borderline imo.

Strictly race engine go Mahle monotherm or some forged pistons, stock ones will melt.

Fully balanced with a fluidampr to complete it.

To do it right you will most likely be in the 10-15k range for a bottom end.

On a standard rebuild with new pistons, bearings, rings, and full gaskets with mild head work runs right around 4000.00 with machine work. Add to that the cost of the parts you want installed in it.

I agree also with not using 12V rods.

So what Rods do you all recommend then and where to get them from as i want to get idea of all parts i will need so i can get idea of cost for the parts without the machine work. I will probably go with just forged pistons as stocks will melt and i don't really want to run monotherms due to cost. Thanks guys

How can you say that 12v rods wont work. We run them in a few of our better builds, they will hold about 1500hp with no issue's

You bent some because you cant build/tune one right to start with....LOL

BTW this in response to your other thread fail...you asked for it!

It is smack talk season...

how much power are you trying to build? many people have succesfully used 12v rods with out failure.

people in beans category like the browns, and tim barber are in a league of their own as far as pushing things to the limit, im sure if you plan on less than 8-900 on fuel spending $6000+ on pistons and rods should be out of the picture.

I'm not sure about the closest geographically but the first ones that pop into my head are.

Fleece
Scheid
Industrial Injection
Browns Diesel

You're bending these in a 6.7 correct?

II, they built a great commonrail not too long ago thats 898hp, single pump, single turbo, and fuel only, no meth, no nos

I've built quite a few high HP cr's, VP motors and 12v's.

I did Kyle (Stainless)'s motor....its hanging in pretty good. And I'm just north of Denver CO.

I am looking to make around 1000 to 1200hp so am trying to find out what all internally parts i need to make that, i already have the turbos and fueling to make that just need to build the bottom end and head how.

Wide Open Performance, in Sandy Utah. They have a 1000hp daily driver CR with almost 100k on it...

I went with Wide Open for my '05 build. They came highly recommended and exceeded all of my expectations. I've got over 80,000 miles on my build (started out with 800hp and is currently at 1000hp) with ZERO issues. I went with Cunningham rods and Cummins .020 over pistons. Give them a call, Jacob will probably answer and he is VERY knowledgeable and should be able to answer any questions you may have. If you want specifics of my build, just ask. The list is too long for me to type on my phone.

all fuel or nitrous to?

shot peened 12v rods should do it imo. i know that erik brown has cunnigham rods and i believe stock pistons, made around 40-50+ dyno runs many above 900hp on fuel and a few runs after 1138 on fuel then the crank wanted no more.

idk much about his bottom end as far as girdle rod bolts or main studs but i would throw all three of those in if going for your numbers

maybe you could incorporate the ability to cryo the rods and crank also?

Go with billet rods!

I would help you. I suggest Industrial Injection If you want to save. They have some good products in builders. I built engine in my 2.6 puller that a CR

Damn sure are alot of members in here that aren't sponsors posting prices and throwing their name out there......

op asked for shops and prices. people arnt gonna hold back cuz their name aint blue.
