$50,000 Purse for a Diesel Race!!

Uh-oh, I must have crossed the "can't make a joke about a CompD God" line.:badidea:

The big payout for number one wont work in pulling with a big entry fee.(technically speaking, it didnt work in racing, or there would have been 100 entries.)

You just won't find 100 guys that think they have a shot at beating, say 20 top trucks in their region. Come to think of it, now that the racers have seen you need a 10 second truck,to be competitive in the class, I think a lot will lose interest. We'll see.
For pulling, I think you would have to knock the entry fee down and spread the payout farther back- 100 guys will think they have a chance at top 50, a lot less think they have a shot at top 10.

However, knowing how bad they complain about a $35 hook fee to win $1000, I dont see it getting much interest.

Good to see everyone and meet new people. Id like to thank marco and bob for going out of their way to get a smarty programmed up for that big red megacab, even though we couldnt use it due to mechanical issues.

Id also like to thank Troy from Premiere and and Dan from Valair once again.

some things i learned this weeknd:

the gate guy at the track cant add
theres a lot you can do in or say about TEXUSSSS
applebees doesnt like when you talk about cuban sandwiches
people who own acuras cant drive
geckos sidewalk is a comfortable place to sleep
so is leaning against their wall
dont yell at the wife about the fence she almost hit with your truck, cause she will leave you at the track
you boys have some quick trucks

I got rumor a dark blue second gen 2wd truck 60' a 1.28?????

Not at 6,000 pounds:shake: They should have got a award for " most wrenching in one event" They had the tranny out 3 times that I know of and we all sall the saw zaw to the converter......Wow amazing is all I have to say

Nobody on this board can hurt my feelings Tim, and absolutely I was kidding. I do get the impression from a few posts, that unless you are waiving pom poms, you are not allowed to say anything. This race, and style of race has been the talk of CompD since Swole posted it. Now its over, reality has sunk in, and the discussion must turn to "what now?" And will it work at other venues or in pulling?

And do the guys who milked parts from vendors for this race that never showed up, have to give the parts back? LOL!:hehe:

As for the "what now" I think 2 more races adding the class is a great start. IMHO, we have a great class on our hands here. To have the kinds of numbers for a first time event and class that this race did is awesome. Hell, it had more trucks and spectators than many events that have been around for quite some time. Add to that, the competition was as door to door as one could ask for, and that will get and keep asses in the seats.

The "what now" is to support the hell out of the class. It seems to be filling a gap between the index guys and Prostreet, and it showed more trucks the first time out than we have seen gathered at one Prostreet race.... ever.

He wouldn't of got into the 14's with just the tuner though. LOL
I learned that vice grips make good injector pullers, if you have the hold downs off. I also learned that you can swap tips in the dark on a tailgate, with gear wrenches.

NOT!!
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
