I have an '06 cummins dually with an automatic, stock exhaust and a 355 rearend. I have a BullyDog triple dog programmer and I am getting 14.5 mpg daily driving. When pulling about 4,500lbs and I am only getting about 10.5. I was wondering if this kind of mpg was common for a 3rd gen truck. Also does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve the mpg.

Are you sure the gears are 3:55, I thought the 06 autos came with 3:73 or upgrade to 4:10's. You can purchase 3:42's.

well thats what the dealer said but i cant find the sticker any where, under the hood,or in the glove box. it runs about 1600 at 55

Ok well I've heard that on the crazy Larry tunes you get the best fuel milage. I know a few guys with the crazy Larry tune an they said they get between 20 to 23 mpg.

sounds like 3:73 with that rpm at 55

do you still have the factory exhaust/ air box/ egr system? Your mileage is going to suffer with all of that. anyone who says they are getting 20mpg with a stock truck your year and just a tuner is either reading the lie-o-meter or they are lying

Anyone else wanna whine and cry and report my post?
If you're worried about fuel economy....this ain't the place for you...period.

It would be dumb to discuss fuel economy when it's only $4.09 a gallon what is he thinking let's get him some cheese for that $4+ a gallon wine
