Show me your 20" Wheels and tires on a 3rd Gen!

I've decided that 18's are out. I'm looking for something with minimal sidewall and 32-ish. I'm currently have a 285/70/17 nitto grappler. I love the tire height, I wouldn't wanna go any bigger.

So 20's are it.

So far the two tires that work in the 32" range are the nitto NT 420S and Toyo Proxies 2. Both a 305/50R20. A bit shorter of a tire, but should more then make up for that with the width.

I'm curious in angle views of how far a 20x9 wheel will stick out past the side of the truck with a 305 tire on it.

i'm not stuck on the width, I'm more interesting in maintaining something in a 31.5-32.5" diameter

Speed rating has to be 130 or better.

I'd like to keep the wheels under $1200. Chrome. Going on my patriot blue long box quad cab 4x4.

I do like the idea of a wider wheel. How's the sidewall flex with that wheel/tire? what exact tire is that? The paint on your truck looks amazing!

yeah I liked them and had them for a little over 2 years just time for something new. they were 20" x 8.5" wheels. I went to a 20" x 9" wheel this time. I was debating going with a 20" x 10" just didn't want my tires sticking out to far.

i dont have a 3rd gen but this is my 2nd gen i am needing to sell these 20'S off it

my thoughts... I've had a few 20x10's.. with 305 50s and 305 55s. Only the 55s come in a load E so the D range (50s) wear alot quicker especially if ya don't rotate as much as we should. I understand your looking at Proxes or similar which obviously don't come in Es so there is only one option. The width of a 10" wheel will stick out almost a full 2" from the body line. It looks sweet but if ur kinda anal about a clean truck like i am you'l want flares. With the flares you have to spend money on good ones, if ya paint them once again spend good money for the quality. Without flares you will constantly find any amount of dirt/mud..etc all over the side of ur rig.

If you want a good website with pretty awesome deals check out Wheelfire

These will be going on my 07.

I've had a D range AT tires before and did not like the handling they had. Down right dangerous is many cases. However that was with the smaller OEM wheel. Do you know if the D range will flex as much as the E as far as turning into a corner at speed? With a 20" wheel that is.

I like the look of the nitto. Anyone run these?

Yeah, it's a truck. Yes I do like to grip in the corners. So a handling tire is a plus for me. I love turning out of a clover leaf in 4x4 as quick as beemers, right now the nitto grapplers push sooner then I know the truck's suspension can handle on a smooth surface. :)
