i just recently bought a 2007 cummins with the 5.9. does anyone know what hp is capable with banks cai and exhaust, an air dog 165 and the trans has goerend parts in it, if i have it tuned with efi live. this stuff was on it when i bought it, plus a smarty tuner. thanks

As much or a bit more than what the Smarty can do with alot better driving experience.

Smarty is a fantastic tuner and Marco has worked wonders with it. But in my opinion I think Efi live is better because of all tools and parameters at your disposal. Best thing that puts efi live over smarty would be data logging. Also with Smarty it seems as they produce too much smoke. With efi live there are plenty of trucks out there running well over 650 hp with little to no smoke. But with this new UDC program coming out for Smarty I think as soon as all the bugs are worked out its going to be right next to efi live in custom tuning.
Just my $.02

I've heard that Efi live tunes and modded
cp3's are not getting along right now

EFI doesnt sell tunes, they sell the tuning software. If the tunes are junk, its the tuners fault. That being said, a stock turbo 5.9 with trans work will break 500hp

Me and my buddy just tuned his 06 qclb manual. Hes got a modded cp3 and some other goodies. He made 696 fuel only zero smoke and drives it everyday on that tune.

X2 on the tuners fault. You might convince someone to send you a tune they created for you to have a starting point but not tunes.

Thats untrue. Efilive doesn't care what IP you have. Its going to control it just like the factory software controls the factory pump if the tables are left alone. Totally up to the the tuner.

I personally love efi live over the smarty the truck is totally a joy to drive now you can take off without feeling like you goosed it everytime you touch the throttle. The power is smoother and engine is a lot quieter no more inj rattle

ive seen 550ish on a completely stock truck with valve body work. 596 with 50hp injectors.

efi live is amazing

Your a moron. Why even bother posting if you have no clue what you are talking about. :nail:

You can be looking around 500-550 hp on a stock truck with tranny as others have said.

Before you make claims you have NO CLUE about YOU might want to call the three top cp3 builders and speak with them! MORON!!

Btw, never said you can't make good power, might want to read what I posted again.

That's correct, but being the tunes are so customizable the wrong parameters can wreak havok on pumps, so I'm told! I've been speaking with 3 of the top pump builders and they are planning on writing their own tables for their pumps, my question is this, if they have to write their own tables to make sure their pumps survive, is that going to limit tuning options with modded cp3's

Bad tunes can wreak havoc on any pump or component, has nothing to do with the pump or component, its all up to the tuner, so saying efi and modded pumps don't jive is false, saying some tuners and modded pumps don't jive would be accurate.

That's what they are saying, that in the last 4 months they have had ALOT of Efi tuned trucks pumps go bad.

Moreless the tuning capabilities of Efi software are so new to ALOT of people that it's gonna take time to find what the Grey areas are for tunes

I have EFI and Love it, ialso have my ssr and s06, so far Efi is my goto, I have been using Efi on my other chevy's for year's
