Switchblade turbocharger

IMO an adr and 70hp injectors isnt enough fuel to make 80psi boost no matter what voodoo is going on.

that was going to be my next comment. no way in HELL your makeing 86.5 psi with the mods you listing going down hill lol. just aint happening. i smell witch doctor voodoo magic here.
 
The egt's were 1500°? It shouldn't get that hot with the fueling you have and an hx35 at 40psi boost. Where's the heat coming from?

but look at a close up at the 106-127 mark. if you look at the egt for the given drive and % of the run, things should be the same but boost is WAY higher in the 260-300 range with everything else being the same. no way in hell everything is staying the same as far as variables and its picking up more than 20psi with blade %, throttle %, egts, and drive almost the exact same.


I see EGT climbing in the graph, when the boost pressures are climbing. Don't know why, only thing I can think of would be the extra heat is driving the turbine harder. Is the compressor starting to shove more than the engine can take causing the boost to climb?

so whats the magic factor here that makes the boost all of a sudden jump up so high with everything else staying the same?

We don't know, there's no associated rpm posted...

Are you crazy??? I was hitting like 1700 an 1800 with that fuel an hy35! That is after being in it hard hard.

That's a good thought, that could be a possibly!
 
Here is a graph, EGT was scaled(divided by 10)

zstroken this is the graph i am looking at. now look at the marks between 106-127. boost reletively levels off around 50ish psi and EGTS are climbing the entire time. then all of a sudden boost jumps up 10psi without any other changes besides climbing egts? so your telling me there is a magic sweetspot in egts that makes boost jump 10psi without out changing anything else?

I see what your referring too. Throw that one out(that is a common thing to do is through out an extraneous data) There are two other places where it doesn't "jump" but boost continues to climb with an increase of EGT. One is early in the run, kind of short, but you see the trend.

I think there were several folks that were in disbelief also. Cummins41 said the boost gauge is pegged. He has also pointed out that this is right at the discharge of the compressor.

Gwoody has proven the sensor and logger are capable of reading well over 50 psi of drive.

So what is your suggestion/explanation?
 
Maybe the soot is clogging the drive pressure transducer or gauge tubing. IDK but I agree it's not right. I was going to ask how you setup the transducers for your log and if drive was maybe not accounting for atmospheric but the boost was hence being so far out of norm. Need another test truck. Send it to Chris (Joesixpack) He has the true lie detector in his bat cave. Switchblade can get a biased opinion plus all the rest of the engine/load data laid out in a nice format.

you tell me where you have seen a single turbo at 6 or more to 1 pressure ratio and have less drive than boost. even on their own website with the turbo in action. at 54ish pounds of boost it was making 50ish drive. now 4psi drop is believable. not 30psi drop. bad trasducer? gauge pegged at what on the mechanical gauge? put a real mechanical gauge that goes to 100psi and same for drive like most everyone else does. if you guys are right and i am wrong i will eat crow no problems but there is just no way in hell a single 363 is going to make 86.5 psi boost and 52psi drive , no way in hell. expecially with the little mods he has. chit 70hp sticks and quad 4k box? no way lol. with my twins, 57mm over s475 with 87 exducer and a 1.1 ar, with tst comp and puck stack with wastegates completly blocked off it made 67psi with 56psi drive with egts at 1200 ish. with same electronics and some 7x012s with wastegate shut completly off, i am at 83psi boost and 73ish psi drive with egts at 1400. there is just no way in hell he is making the numbers said. unless the switchblade has some voodoo magic egt boost rising valve that no one has been able to figure out then i commend you sir. so your telling me that you can take a truck with same fuel mods and stick a 363 on it and make 86psi of boost? no way. i dont care what the ar is on that turbo. aint happening.

All I did is graph the chart. I am not saying what can or can't happen. I am just posting data. I know 1 of the guys involved with this very well, and I will say that he wouldn't knowingly be giving me false data to post. I would take that to the bank.

I was thinking the sticks were larger than 70 HP sticks. But I could be wrong.

If the soot was clogging it, I would think that it wouldn't just clog it at higher PSI? I did suggest that they swap the plumbing only(boost channel and sensor to measure drive, and drive to measure boost) that would eliminate the electronics portion. Only other think I could think of was a leak in the drive pressure tubing that would act like an orifice. Hopefully some inspection and new data, can support the existing data.
