Cummins Info

So are you basically trying to argue that a duramax is going to be cheaper and easier to work in this swap than a 12v? im just lost at what your getting at... How about this, we come to an agreement that a duramax will fit a little easier than a 12v would. But the 12v will be easier to work on/maintain and cost much less than a duramax will. Anyone else agree?

YEP!

I'm also not sure what car a D-max will fit in without firewall work??? Now if you go to a front mount then ok. Then you would have money in fab work to most people would have to pay for. I guess it's all easy when you just talk about. It's another story when you actually DO IT and finish it and make it work.

Neither the Mustang nor the Z28 had to have their fire wall modified. The motors went in without a hitch.

no need to change injectors , just good old EFI live . and a stock Dmax will make that kind of power with out smoke,
remember you have no place to put a stack on a car,

your going to spend about the same money.

Yup, because LB7 injectors never need to be replaced. lol

I guess you missed the part about a front mount turbo. That adds money and time. They won't just drop in strait out of a truck. Now I know a cummins won't also because of size but if Joe farmer put one (Cummins) in a S-10 I would have to say it will go in most cars.

what is so hard about the turbo mount. its stock manifolds and two tubes. the SS 454 we are doing will use all stock parts , just modified.

I would say I aint seen NOBODY drop a P-stroke in a stang. That's what I would do.

Keep it Ferd and be DIFFERENT.

You are comparing a Orange to a Grapefruit.

The 454 SS is a truck. Mustang = Car.:welcome:

:evil THAT would be a BADARSE swap.

And very do-able. :pop:

That's right beyotches- thread made turn 3- started out-looking for Cummins info, Greg turns it into a Duramax thread and fills his head with I done it before's-:hehe: and turn 3 is now involving a silly PowerStroke set up in a FORD.

*:kick:Greg's probably having facial ticks. :hehe:

Could be worse, could be a 6.5 swap thread.

Well here’s what I have found in my research. Salvage yards around here think they have a gold mine if they have a Dmax. And to get a complete donor truck or van you better be ready !
