Diesel power challenge 2013

I guess I forgot that it isn't a "CHALLENGE" keeping a 4 digit hp truck together through multiple events, lol.

Damn, this has got me all worked up. Time for beer.

I never said it wasn't. It's a lot harder in Colorado though. Ignorant people like you come out here with a big head and can't compete. But what do I know I only live here, and have deal with the elevation with a high HP truck. I hope you get in, I'll even vote for you so you can come show us what a real 4 digit truck can do.:lolly:

Well your truck is tuned for high altitude, then I show up with my truck that has never seen high altitude and have to completely relearn everything from tuning to racing. I guess I would rather see trucks running at full tilt battle it out where they are already tuned in, try to stay together through the events, rather then suffer through it because they have never delt with it before. But what do I know, I only deal with low elevation trucks. :lolly:

On edit: Cant believe you actually got me worked up enough to argue on the interwebs, lol.

I say the hold the event up in your area. I can't believe these guys ***** about 5kft, that's good air in my mind.

It'll be a good challenge no matter where it is. I'm just messing with ya Lee. I'll still vote for you next year:lolly:. It's a lot different making power here and especially getting it to spool.

All I meant was if they are looking for the highest HP truck that can stay together I think Colorado is a good place to find out.

Haha :lolly: I know. We get the truck together, run it around up here around 8000ft then drive it over a 10,000ft pass to get down to the 5500 ft track. Feels like sea level! :lolly:

I think to really announce a diesel power truck champion, the trucks should score the points based on direct results.

Example :
1/4mile and 1/8mile trailer tow: if you run 11.51@ 120mph you get 120 points - 11.51 = 108.49 total points
Or run 10.34@130 you get 130 points - 10.34 =119.66 total points

Dyno :750hp 1240ft lbs - add them together=1990 X 10% = 199 total points
Or dyno 1178hp 1890ft lbs would equal 306.8 points

Sled pull: 280ft distance pulled =280 total points

Just a random thought I had

I like this Idea

I feel like the high altitude just turns a lot of the trucks into bottle babies. But I know nothing about high altitude tuning.

Sent from My phone while the Boss wasn't looking.

This is the way it should be scored.

I like the idea, but how do you crown the overall winner.

Ya ya ya...whatever it takes to make you win LOL LOL

Their way of scoring is fine, it separates the reliable trucks and the "event queens".

It's not that, the way it is now, my personal truck, as is, completely stock engine +turbo and tune, would have a chance at placing top 5 at this event, and in no way should it be a diesel power challenge truck.

Add some propane for the mileage test and some N20 for the dyno/track and you could probably sneak into the top three.

What a great week and event - I enjoyed meeting everyone and I will say the Diesel Power group along with all the ATS guys were great to work with. If the chance ever comes for me to be a part of the event again I will be there no doubt.

Nah, with decent airflow(head work/intake horn/manifold/cam) it's easy! My truck spools up pretty well. I can't imagine this thing at sea level!

My truck is always a smokey beotch up there, especially the tunnel and Loveland pass! The hippies in Breck HATE that thing. Even at idle she just hazes. LOL
