Lookin for dependable 6.0

Autos don't take the heat like the other white meat. Lol.

89 F-Superduty -this is boring, lets go pull something.
96 VW Passat -cheap to drive, expensive to fix.
You may like your fast Cummins,
But your wife likes my slow powerstroke.

you obviously don't know much about the ZF6... the 5R is much better at handling power than a ZF6, and a big part of that is how much heat a ZF6 makes and how little heat it can tolerate under steady load

You can fluff this up any way you want, a 6.0 is a pile of garbage. I've seen several VP powered trucks go 200k + on the original fuel system.........doesn't mean they are a good design.

Really, stop and think of how many people you know with a 6.0. How many of them have had ZERO issues?

How many of the CR Dodge buddies have had complete engine catastrophes?

I think the biggest missed ship in diesel performance right now is the fact nobody has figured out how to make a 5R live behind any other engine. I'll take that trans over an allison any day.

one of the biggest issues is people put the 5R behind a Cummins that makes twice the torque at half the RPM... They're killer behind the little V8's, but there's no way I'd put one behind a Cummins

I would like to think it could be tuned into working in a sub 500hp truck. But the engine and trans would have to talk with each other and defuel on shifts.

That may be true in most cases. But as far as fords transmissions are concerned, I'll take the auto over a standard in a Ford anyday. Hell id like to have a 4 or 5r behind my dmax. The autos are retardedly stout with no modifications.

Idk, I think if I wanted an auto I would most likely go with the Allison. They make a pretty good trans. They learn a little to much though.

I still want my 6 speed.

Then get a 6 speed broseph. You obviously aren't here to listen to us.

A stock 4r or 5r can handle a ton more hp than a stock Allison.

The Allison will never leave you stranded tho, no matter what you do to it, you'll always have one forward gear...kinda haha

man, I'm tellin' ya, if I could build my dream truck, it'd be a dang ol' Ford sewper dewty with a Cummings motor and a dang ol' Allison transmission... best of both BOTH worlds, man... dang

Take a 6.0 and make it dependable. I'll have a retard proof 12V for half the money that I can fix with a hammer and a pair of vice grips, and roll it down a hill to start it with no battery in sight if need be.

Agreed, that's why it would be removed from the low quality shipping crate the factory installs them in and put it in something else.
