Truckers, lets see your rigs!

At least your boss spent money on looking good lol

But complained about my fuel mileage all the time and breathed down my neck about every little thing. Micro manage like no other.

This deal is so much better. I don't hear from them like... Ever. I get my loads from our dispatch lady and that's pretty well it unless I need something. I've talked to my actual boss 1 time and seen him 1 time.

I don't blame you a bit, if Jace is anything like he used to be I can't see him being the "boss" of anyone, seemed to have a bit of a Napoleon type complex :lolly:

I talk to and see my boss all the time haha. He doesn't give a rats ass about my fuel mileage, all he cares about is making sure his trucks are maintained and the guys driving them are making some coin

I have guys driving two trucks. I want good mileage but want them to drive the truck properly and look after it. I don't bug them about how they drive but I make sure I put the point across I don't need them speeding or smashing the trucks up on the road. I can't afford to pay for major repairs with a driver wrecking a truck. Nor do I have the time. If that's the case I'll park the truck.

I try for fuel mileage. I take care of or drive the trucks like I would if they were my own. Always have always will...
If it's broke and not running, then I'm not running.
The last guys in this truck were getting 4 mpg, I'm getting 5-5.1.
My last tank figured at 5.4 but not sure if I believe that.

My deal on the last one just wouldn't work. No matter how I drove that truck, it wouldn't pull and wouldn't get any fuel mileage. Yea he spent money on looking good and it was nice but it came with a price.
We got along exceptionally well until he had a come apart. I wasn't gonna take it.
I don't know if money got tight or what happened. Plus that job turned into something it was never supposed to be but at first didn't bother me.
That was a out a max of 2-3 days a week if we had to. Then went to 5 days (ended up not minding), then went to 3000-3200 miles a week in 5-6 days and there was a couple times I was out 2 weeks.

Now, I went into this job with a different agenda and I kinda just stay out. We shoot for Monday through Friday or early Saturday type of thing. However like last weekend I tried to just stay out for some more dough and ended up beating the clock and ended up back by the house Saturday afternoon so I worked on the truck. This week however I'm headed for Iowa at the moment, unload Friday and reload for a KC unload on Monday.

I understand a person looking after their trucks and being a boss, totally. There's a line though where I can't deal with... I get more done and comfortably if I just get left alone.

Also on a side note, if I get one more check call on a load from odd ball numbers, I'm gonna strangle someone lol. I'll get the load there when it's due. Even if they took 8+ hours to get me loaded and then kicked me out on the street to strap down.

What annoys me is unrealistic expectations, I cannot unload, drive 80 miles, reload with a checkout time of 5pm and be 700 miles north by 8 the next morning, not happenin

Never haul a load for Total Quality Logistics aka TQL. They expect a check call between 8 and 9am Eastern time, doesn't matter if you're on the west coast and it's 5am there. If you don't answer they'll call 10 times in a row without leaving a VM, then call your dispatcher, then they call your boss and then they call you 10 times in a space of 3 minutes again until somebody answers.

Sure you can. I thought you were a super trucker? I got 1200 miles to go right now and I'm gonna try to be there by 8am tomorrow lol

I probably would have made it if I hadn't run into a super bad ice fog problem lol. My defrost couldn't keep up and I couldn't see so I shut it down for a couple hours

Oh yea I'll shut it down in a heartbeat over ice. And if I have to throw chains? Not happening. You'll get your load when I can drive again

The roads were fine, I just couldn't see a damn thing. 8am appointment be damned, if you want your chit at all you'll let me park, I'll throw chains if I'm within a couple hours of my destination but that's it. Lol

Been there!! Lmao!

If I have to throw chains, I don't need to be driving.

What's with the sissies not hanging iron? If all that's standing between me and the ol lady's hot ass is a snow covered mountain pass, by God I'm hanging chains and going home! Lol

I would've been sitting for weeks waiting out storms this year, glad it's close to over.

I haven't chained up at all this year, mostly because I haven't been back to ND since December haha
