New Prostock build seen in Edmonton

saw it run at castrol this weekend. Did a 7.96 on its first pass, and an 8.10 on its second. Heard someone in the pits say that was 2 seconds quicker than last time, and it could be heard quite clearly half a mile away.

It really doesn't. I had fitted plugs in, and it was still very snappy. It has the same feel as a fuely car, but not the same sound. hard to really describe. on his second pass we could see the red in the exh stream from the headers. was pretty awesome.

Man I wish I'd grabbed my fitted earplugs out of my truck beforehand, but I kept forgetting. Did you stick around for the burnout competition after the racing was done?

we were heading back out to load up for Darwell. Missed the burnouts. Had too much running around to do. Heard it was pretty awesome though.

Right on. I watched the 1st one, and was the 2nd to go. Missed the rest, but ended up behind this thing in the return lane. I didn't win, but it was a good time

Bump....for those looking for more info on the truck, it's in the current issue of Diesel World, the issue with the black 6 door on the cover. The Editor re-printed the article for those who missed it the first time around in the Ultimate Diesel Builder's Guide.

There have been some updates to this unit over the winter. I don't know all of the details, but what i do know is that the engine got a full rework with RPS Diesel in Morinville. Well known shop for making good stuff. Looks like they went to a whole new head set up that should eliminate the rocker problems they had before and flow a BUNCH more air.
440 cfm intake
380cfm exhaust
2800 swirl and .800 inch lift

This can be seen with the MASSIVE new valve set up. The bottom end stayed the same as far as i can tell, and i think the fuelling up front is the same. Look to be a higher ratio on the blower, so it might be sitting closer to the 3:1 rather the 2.73:1 it was at end of season. Pretty excited to see it move again.

needed more air, that's for sure. From what i heard, the heads originally were poorly designed, or maybe a better way to say, had room for improvement. That led to other things i guess.

Think they want it well into the 6's
