Truckers, lets see your rigs!

Ha ha sorry been a long weekend... I meant how did your friend with the B do? What kind of numbers? Is this the one with the twin turbo set up?

760 I believe, yea he took the twin setup he had on an E and made it fit his B. Had to babysit it with the single 80mm but adding an HX above it took care of the heat. This is an aftercooled motor. New engine will be ATA.

Very nice. Mine made 753 with an 88mm, E trim HC5a and my dads made 770 with an 88mm, G trim HC5a last year. Both motors ATA, mine is a 425 7FB and his is a 350 4MG. No where near work able.

Does your buddy works his motor, correct? Trying to convince my dad this is what he needs to let me do on his C, but isn't sold. He has a 78mm BW Cat replacement. But I think adding a bigger top charge he could add a bit of fuel and clean it all up.

Yep, works it hauling coils between KY and Michigan. Yea there is no way your working 800+ hp with a single turbo unless your hauling toilet paper downhill and don't mind a 300rpm useable power band.

I was thinking the same thing. You'd have to keep that thing wound tight to keep it in good (usable) air.

Didn't Kurt work that c16 at 1000+ with a single?

Rumor was he didn't even have tags on the truck when he was 1000+. Borrowed them to make dyno day in Utah. Got this info from the guy he got the tags from.

What ever happened to him? That truck ran hard back in the day.

Actually, I seem to remember something about baling hay now.

Sold the truck to a guy here in Ohio then I believe it sold again. Haven't heard anything out of him for years.

I'm not saying you can't work 1000hp with a single but you will spend 100% of your time playing gauge babysitter.

The kid with the B can tell you first hand. Did like 1100hp with an electronic motor 4-5yrs ago and hauled a 30k single coil to PA on the way to dyno day. Spent the morning before the event dropping in a new cyl pack in Antrims parking lot. If that seems fun so you don't have to makes some brackets and piping then a single is the way to go. Lol

Oh there's ways. There's more than a few ways.

Did it score an aluminum skirt? Would monotherms have helped?

Doesn't change the fact that it can be done.
Can be done and can be done well are not the same thing. None of the ways to keep a 1000hp single alive are as simple and user friendly as compounds.

Oh the ISX, good looking truck and did great with the stock turbo. Like 807?

Edit: 407hp since it didn't use the european revgain method.

Let's back up to ***yesterday***

I'm sure that thing had the widest power band out of all the trucks there too.

Or was there a other turbo on it?
