Truckers, lets see your rigs!

don't be fooled, the only engines they have over there that are worth a damn are made by Scania. Volvo is garbage everywhere in the world

Tell that to my dad who has 2.2 million on a Volvo d12b. The head has never been off. Junk I tell Ya!

The 870s aren't as controllable. This is an 871. Most, and I mean most problems seem to com from poor tuning. This has survived quite well with 100k+ loads, but I'm also the only driver. I surely would castrate it if someone else was running it

Shows what good tuning can really do.

There has to be something different to your volvox across the pond. I swear all of the ones I know of had sleeve issues like you stated, but also emissions, injector, electrical, multiple water pump failures. Ect. We went to the 6 dd powered trucks because the Volvo powered ones were soo problematic. I'm not saying they can't be good, just that these ones didn't seem to be. (2008-2012 vintage). I believe you totally that you feel your engines are superior, and maybe what you guys have over there is great. But with 6 in a fleet of 70, 1 was down at all times. I wonder if maybe your euro spec cal is different enough that it causes fewer issues???
Earlier we didnt have EGR, now all engines should be same all around the world. Except we have higher hp versions for some reason. Maybe for conventionals worse cooling capacity ?

Yea run your mouth about the guy that isn’t here... that has more knowledge in his phuckin change drawer than you have in your whole head. Idiot

Not my fault he constantly contradicted himself.

2.2 Million miles on a d12 LOL LOL LOL I am dying here. If you are going to lie at least make it realistic LOL You could have told me any Cat was at 2.2 million and I still wouldn't believe it unless I knew the truck. No brand bias there.

Why would you change the turbos on the acerts? They can efficiently put 700+hp to the ground and drive better than any single turbo truck. Pistons? That is probably the last thing I have seen replaced on an Acert. Their bottom ends are out of this world. My business partner is putting some quality studs in the bottom and will be spinning his at 4000+ rpm in his puller.... What a bunch of junk.

I won't argue that the stock acerts had their issues, but the ISuX and paccar eurotrash have guys longing for the good old days of 3.8 mpg. Also, the reason you see more questions about cats is because there's more of them still out there and the guys that own them do their own maintenance. It's weird that cat hasn't made an on highway engine in 10 years and people are still going out of their way to put them in new trucks.

funny how you never see guys swapping a Volvo into a hood truck as great as the two nutswingers make them sound. but those cat engines are so schitty there's guys willing to go all the way back to a 40pin ECM just to have a reliable ride. hmmmmmm

Lol. I've found lots of stuff on how to put a cat in place of a cummins/detroit/paccar but nothing going the other way. I wonder why?

Speaking of, im swappin a 7Cz in place of a cm2250 in a 2012 389, anyone ever done one like this? Anything to look out for?

Wasn't the one Faulkner just put a c18 in an old 2250?

fitzgerald kinda has the market cornered with the series 60 swaps, i can get on board with that because those are good engines. but everywhere you look online, a cat powered glider kit commands a higher price. its amazing how such an allegedly garbage engine can be in such high demand more than ten years after it was last produced.

as far as I know, and Faulkner can correct me if he makes and appearance, you will need the cab to engine harness for a cat, as well as everything from the fan forward as far as the ATA, radiator, etc......7CZ should be a healthy powerplant!

why would anyone swap a junk C18 in place of that marvel of cummins engineering known as a CM2250? /sarcasm

Yea. I saw it/him at Antrims in May. I never got his info though. Although it wasnt neccisary when he used to frequent this site.

Believe me. For the most part i like an isx. Just not a 2250/2350

the 870 and 871 were not bad, at least the 565's and signature 600 I drove were pretty decent, i didn't mind those trucks at all....2250 and 2350's are boat anchors though haha
