traditionally, a hot rod was/is a vehicle that yields excellent performance for the dollar. 1st gens are great trucks! they are classics! but you're up against a serious wall when it comes to getting decent power out of them.

What defines decent power forrest? A 400hp Daily driver in a light 1st gen body is heckuva fun.

I do not think that is true because i have a 91 D250 that i bought for $1800 and put about another 200 to 300 dollars in preformance mods and make 298 hp and run 13s at the track. So in my book 1st gen are hot rods:cool:

I have a water to air intercooler,3200 spring ,pump turned up,timing advanced and 5" exhaust, still have the stock turbo, injectors and trans

man, that's awesome... you got your timeslip handy?

I'm curious how it breaks down (60ft, 1/8, 1/4, ET, mph)

what's your race weight?

It take a bit more effort to make on old truck go fast. But the look on peoples faces makes it worth it. Sleepers, not creepers.

60ft-1.94 on street tires not slicks

1/8-8.85@78mph

1/4-13.95@97mph

truck is around 5000lbs
