Towing with a silver bullet is fine but you do have to adjust. We do it all the time hauling trucks and construction equipment. If you try to accelerate like you have no trailer, it is going to get warm until you get it cruising. My brothers truck has 3.55 gears, so the worst towing mph is 60. Its fine up to there, trick to get to 65, after that, set the cruise at 70-75 and let it go.
My truck has a 71mm hx50 with a 17cm housing. Last week i towed 25,000 lbs worth of chemicles on a a gooseneck. Truck weighs 7,800 and trailer about 9,000. Plenty of power cruising down interstate at 65 mph runnning 1100-1200* and 25 lbs boost. The biggest problem is braking power i think. Oh and i run twin electric fans, but it keeps burning the snowplow selanoids up so i was towing with no fans. The hottest it got when taking off was 195* after cruising, 175*. But we live in central Illinois on flat ground. If you live in the hills and hollers all the time, these setups probably wouldnt work out so well. Tim
