01 12v swap

Ok brief description I have installed a 96 12v in my 01 truck I have a 98 12v underhood harness and ecm installed as well. Here is the issue when I plug it into the 01 dash harness it seems to be looking for a bus code also the high beam headlight indicator stays on when I turn the key off the dash stays lit. also the truck won't turn over and the shutoff solenoid doesn't work either. Please help what have I missed*bdh*

Do I need a 98 dash harness or am I am missing something

With the shut off solenoid, you could just take it off and go with the tractor cable shut off.

I realize this but I want to make it correct

I say that only because it is a easy theft deterent. Saved my truck. Im not a big electrical guru so hopefully someone will step in an help. Possible ecm needing flashed?

I hope so I don't want to have to buy the service manuals and rewire the thing
