Maybe someone here will have some input. I know the 5 speed drivetrain on a 2nd gen v10 is same as diesel. How about this tranny?. Its a auto from a 03 v10 truck. What ive read is a 48re.

My recollection is that it is a 47RE, the only V10's that got the 48RE were supposedly the SRT. I would also suspect it is a 47RE as they were putting 47RE behind the SO diesel in 03 IIRC.
The Magnum V10 featured a relatively low 8.4 to 1 compression ratio and was designed to run on regular 87 octane gasoline. For the 1995 model year the engine was coupled to the 47RH 4 speed automatic or NV4500 5 speed manual transmission. 1996 - 2002 model year engines utilized Chrysler's 47RE automatic transmission or the NV4500 manual gearbox. In the engine's final year of production, it featured Chrysler's 48RE 4 speed automatic transmission or the New Venture NV4500.
This as what i was going off of. Recon the insides are sme as diesel. minus the valvebody?
