04 hiccups then surges??????.?

Some updates please help still acting up I copy and pasted from another forum


Here's the story truck is an 04 icp in rocker cover but from what I've been told it doesn't have the stc fitting because it has a cast hpop cover

Truck randomly surges and idles very erratically I kinda got it on video video isn't great but the best I have right now my 8 year old is the one asking

Truck
Studded
Egr delete
Blue spring mod
4 in turbo back
S&b intake
Turbo cleaned
Newer ficm
New icp
New cam sensor
New ipr

Running the truck stock right now to eliminate any variables

You can see the ipr % for from its normal 20-24% at idle to 40% without me touching the throttle I'm totally lost as to what could cause this also sometimes it will stumble then surge or sometimes just die

I've spent so much money on this truck that it is getting frustrating I just want it fixed once and for all

Stand pipes, dummy plugs, hpop leaking at ball plug in side of pump, o-ring on top of pump and you DO have a STC, just slightly in a different spot.
 
Why with 85 k am I having a much trouble I replaced the o-rings in the stand pipes when I studded it I was told that would be good and I was told I didn't need to worry about the stc fitting because I wasn't disturbing it

I guess my next step is to pressurize the oil system

i would check the crank shaft position sensor.I have changed about a dozen of them now between the 6.4 and the 6.0 liters in the same spot on the pass side front just above the oil pan.
 
more than likely your ipr is on its way out. sounds like the same thing mine did before

My wife's late 04' Ex is behaving exactly the same right now. Our experiences are literally identical. An ICP change fixed it for a while. But I haven't looked at the CPS yet. Ours fires immediately on startup so I have my doubts about having any HPODS leaks too.

I haven't gotten around to hooking the AE back up to the thing yet but I have been suspecting the IPR and have been dreading there possibly being a harness issue. The tips about CPS were a new one on me. I'm glad I came across this thread.

Snoracerx, I'm curious to hear what yours turns out to be.
