08 trans problem

Leaves my wife stranded sometimes. Goes to shift to 3rd gear but goes to neutral. Reverse wont work then either says shift inhibited and flashes the underline on the R. Bone stock truck. It only has 2nd gear or nothing, shifting it into 4x4 hi and lo makes no diff.

Codes? how dose reverse work?

Not sure about the codes. Leave it set overnight and reverse works once and thats it.

Sounds like either the c3s are smoked or maybe a piston came apart, chances are the trasn needs to come out, but with out codes its a lil hard to tell what is up for sure, you will need a scaner that can read the tcm codes, not just the p0700 that will be in the ecm!
