Looking at replacing my turbo with something a little bigger again. Had a 64/71/14 but the lag was too much for me with the manual trans and what I use the truck for.

The HE351CW is a great little turbo, but runs hot when pushed. Love it's fast spool up however.

Trying to decide between the 62/65/12 or the 63/68/12 or ???

Any advice. Info in my sig is accurate.. Truck is a DD and tows... No sled pulls, no drag racing...

Thanks
Bob

What your looking for is twins, my friend. Hx35 and a 3b can't beat them for towing.

I have a 62/65/12 in my truck with twins, I don't think I could trade it for anything bigger for towing daily driving. I shut the gate down to tow and can make 50+psi towing at 1200 but it creeps up in extreme grades towing heavy like 25k+... in daily driving I open the gate at 20psi and at 50 im at 25 between stages but im also over 600rwhp and have made 763 on a superflow but keep it down around 600 for daily driver because that's where my truck lives 99.9% of the time..

I run a 6/65/12 as a secondary over a 80mm too. I'm sure it cost me some top end, but it does run great down low. Still pretty strong on the top end too.

i have a 63/68 tho its on a 24v..from a 62/74...best change i ever made....even my wife noticed right away..still makes 50 psi

Id do the 63/68. Should spool just as good and and the bigger turbine will let it breathe alittle more on top.

Or to throw it in the mix... There is also a 62/68/12

I'm really not sure what I want to run

I'd go 63/68/12 with your 5x14s. A 62/65/12 works better with 5x12s.

come for a ride in my truck if you want to see how well my combo works..

I have had, 64/71/14,64/71/12, 66/71/12, and currently run a 62/65/12. If I was looking for more top end I would go back up for a bit more ex flow. For what I do with my 600+ hp it does me just fine and spools almost instantly in my dinosaur.. if you are only looking for 5-600hp as a single your going to end up with something bigger and smokier for sure..

Simple, cheap, effective.

I agree.. It's just in the OBS ford there is a huge HVAC box and a starter on the passenger side already. I know it is very do able still, but what I want for the moment is a good single.

I like my 63/68/.70 (12cm or close to it) I got from River City Turbo. It has the same HE351CW turbine outlet so I was able to keep the twin set up the same as before. The new turbo was 15/16" longer so everything moved back almost 1 inch, but that was it.

I would think the 63/68 would be the most desirable as a single.
I wasn't as pleased with my 62/65 after stepping up from a stocker as I would have liked, but I had a ghetto ass exhaust housing too.

I could see a hybrid over a 3b doing well.
