I know common practice is to remove all springs, but for the sake of learning I’m curious. What are the effects of shims under the idle spring? I would like to know how the drivability and performance of the governor is affected by adding tension to the idle spring only.
Scenario: There is a .020” shim under the idle spring. What happens when you remove that shim? What happens when you add another shim?
Does this result in poor driving characteristics?
:thankyou2:
