1500 fuel tank??

Has anyone ever looked into swapping in a smaller 1500 fuel tank?? Id like to have a smaller tank under the truck, less weight, more room, etc. just curious if the strap indentions would line up.
 
Drag, street truck. I dont haul or go on any long trips to warrent needing 30 gallons hanging out with me. If it was gonna be an all out toy Id just go fuel cell, but I dont want to go that route just yet
 
99% of your single cab short bed swaps use the 1500 tank if they dont use a fuel cell. One of my straps lined up had to modify the other to work.

Thanks, now I gotta find one!! Whats the smallest tank the Ram used?
 
Seems like a lot of tom-foolery for only a loss of 5 gallons.

It may be. Im gonna have to go look at some at the junk yard. The main reason is I want more room under the truck for the fuel system. Just me, but I cant stand the look of the fuel filters hanging halfway to the ground under a truck. If I could get everything inside the frame rails that would be great.
