2007 oil pan removal?

My engine has a BBQ'd #6 piston. I was looking at my little cross member and wondered if I could just cut it out enough to drop the oil pan and then tab it and bolt it back in. Just curious if it has been done or if everyone lifts the engine?

just jack it up a few inches to get the pan out.

X2 on jack it up! If your cylinder is toast you have to pull it anyway so pull the head and inspect it first.

Please just jack up the engine,loosen motor mounts, jack on the front of the engine till it won't go any higher, wiggle out oil pan, not very hard.
