getting parts together for a 5 speed swap into a 99 dodge. i have a good DLD. i talked to a vender about tcases today looking for a DHD because, well heavy duty is in the name after all. he told me for 100 bucks i can have an input shaft to make my DLD fit into the nv4500. he said that this is a better way to go because i wont have to do any driveshaft modifications and that the DLD has a thinner sprocket and chain than the DHD but the parts that actually hold the tcase in 4x4 in the DHD is weeker. is this true? thanks for any input.

the DHD does have a bigger chain, gears, and output shaft than the DLD.

As for the parts that hold it in 4x4 I'm not so sure on that one.

i just put the new input in my dld when i did the auto to man. swap. that lets me drive my truck for cheap now while i save for a dhd.
