ok i need some expert advice. last weekend i entered my truck into a local sled pull and got walked over by other trucks with posi rear ends despite having more power. my truck's mostly driven on the street but it sees some off roading and will see more sled pulling in the future. can i stuff the posi diff from a 3500 into my rear or do i have to go aftermarket? what are some good aftermaket diffs that are still streetable? any help is gladly appreciated

You'll need a new carrier too, but yes you can... You might be better off going for a lock-rite or something though. The factory LS for the D80 has pretty weak spider gears.

i see. i'm not too familiar with any of this stuff. some people on other forums were tryin to tell me the 2500s and the 3500s have the same rear end, the dana 80, but you never see a dually doin a burnout with only one side spinning. so you're sayin i'm better off going aftermarket?
