271-D tcase

[Problem child]

I have a 271-d tcase that I need to change the 23 spline input shaft out for a 29. Can I just buy a 29 spline input shaft an it'll replace it?

Yes that's it. I can't remember you may need a different roller bearing as some have a smaller or larger input bearing between years. Now that I think of it that was on my 241 case. My 271 29 spline swap used the same bearing. Easy swap none the less.

Need a new input shaft seal too. Snap ring is under the seal.
